Compact construction through high-packaging density
The innovative product series was developed to meet new client and market demands. Special attention was focused on the compact construction of the individual C-DIAS modules. Through the high packaging density of the modules, the occupied area is only 1.9cm2 per I/O point. |
C-DIAS modules can be used universally
The new C-DIAS modules are used as a complete, independent control or as an extension to an existing DIAS system , making it possible for both product series to be used with automation concepts. The possibility also exists to use the modules as a remote I/O system or as an intelligent subsystem.
Module carrier with high-speed communication – 30 million I/Os per second
The module carrier, which serves as the mechanical connection for 4 or 8 C-DIAS modules, is also new. An easily operated locking mechanism fixes the modules on the module carrier. A quicker and easier module exchange is possible with a simple connector arrangement through which, the module carrier makes the electrical connection to the individual C-DIAS modules. On the module carrier , equipped with the CPU, communication between the CPU and the I/O modules is established over the parallel data transfer at the highest speed ; a scan rate of 30 million I/Os per second. Up to 8 module carriers can be connected via the DIAS bus with a fiber optic conductor and/or a double-twisted-pair cable.
Practically jitter-free peripheral access possible
The innovative C-DIAS synchronous clock function allows for practically jitter-free peripheral access , which enhances the control quality as well as the machine precision in motion-control applications.
Extensive module identification
With the LASAL CLASS project software, all modules connected to the system can be automatically identified. Each individual module type is listed in a table, thus a quicker and easier overview of the available periphery guaranteed.

Modern, forward-looking design
The housing has been designed with a new concept. The beveled terminal strip makes it possible for the wiring to be directly inserted at the height of a standard cable channel. A functionally designed housing top covers the terminal strip, including the wiring and can be used as a labeling surface. The light-emitting diodes show the current status and allows for a diagnostic functionality. In order to meet the demands for modern logistics and pre-assembly of cables, the C-DIAS modules were extended with a connector strip , which are available with spring clips or screw terminals. |

LASAL – All in one is a unique, worldwide project tool that offers object oriented programming with client-server technology and graphical presentation. Through its central data management, accessing the individual tools for all variables in the system is possible at any time. LASAL CLASS – project tool that offers object oriented programming
LASAL CLASS (Control Logic Application Software System), can be used on more target platforms as existing systems on the market. It supports the entire SIGMATEK product line from CPUs and terminals to industrial-PCs. Easy configuration of the various applications as well as a later change of the platforms is possible. The use of innovative programming techniques like transmitting, aggregation and creating complex objects considerably reduce project time. LASAL CLASS expands on the IEC 61131-3 standard regarding object oriented programming and insures the easy and safe creation of applications. Additionally, the total software costs will decrease since with the modularity, reusability and encapsulation of the user programs allow applications to be more easily tested and efficient.
LASAL SCREEN – HMI-Tool for graphic terminals und industrial-pc's
LASAL SCREEN is an HMI tool (Human Machine Interface) for all graphic terminals and all graphic industrial PCs from SIGMATEK. Through the connection to the common database , LASAL SCREEN can recognize all data points ( Servers) in the system. Picture size and position can be defined individually. In the completed Layouts for operating terminals with function keys , the key assignment is predefined. The selection between operation with Touch or function keys can be made when creating the picture. With the definition of a global picture and the individual screens derived there from, the project time can be decreased. LASAL CLASS also offers the user such functions as alarm-management, event-management (diary), trend-representation, creation of bar charts, Online language and unit conversion, bubble-help-function and drop down menu.
LASAL TEXT – fast and concise projectformation
In LASAL TEXT all SIGMATEK text terminals are presented in graphic form, which
makes project organization fast and concise. The individual screens are displayed only because all functions already exist in the library. Through the connection to the common database, the variable is immediately integrated and placed in the display individually. The output format as well as the places after the decimal and the limit values is freely configurable. Additional functions include the creation of global screens, fully assignable keys, the control of LEDs, bar displays and online language conversion.
LASAL MOTION – Motion Control with DIAS Servo line
With the DIAS Servo line, an optimal cooperation between the PLC and drive systems is achieved. Complete functions such as absolute positioning, relative positioning, endless-positioning, CNC-functions and coordinated movement (polygon, linear interpolation, circular interpolation, curve disks, gear functions, flying-saws, tangential axes, electric Waves, circuit motions, etc.), are available. In the LASAL CLASS project tools library, complete motion classes are available that assume all the regulation and control functions of the servomotor.

The new project development software by SIGMATEK combines all the functions required for the solution of automation tasks. SIGMATEK presents LASAL, the new project development software. LASAL is a unique, worldwide project tool that offers object oriented programming with client-server technology and graphical presentation. The technology of PC based programming techniques is transferred into the control and automation arena. With LASAL, all the functions to solve automation tasks in the project, visualization and motion control fields are provided. With support provided for many different platforms it can be used for logic control systems and terminals as well as for industrial PCs.
